Outlook 2016 Update for April 2016

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2016. This is a non-security update which contains 15 documented improvements and fixes. Office 365 based installations get 2 additional fixes.

Most notable fixes are:

  • 6 fixes for when you connect to an Exchange server via the MAPI over HTTP protocol that deal with crashes, Public Folder connectivity and and attachment corruptions in some scenarios when connected in Online Mode.
  • You can’t select multiple attachments of an email message in Outlook 2016 by pressing SHIFT.
  • Profile creation fails for hidden global address list (GAL) users.
  • Updates Add-in support to the current API version 1.3.

Additional fixes for Office 365 installations of Outlook 2016:

  • Fix an issue where images in HTML signatures appear as gray boxes when sending new messages or replying.
  • Fix an issue where the search folder for read items also shows unread items.

Outlook 2013 Update for April 2016

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2013. This is a non-security update which contains 11 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes are:

  • 5 fixes for when you connect to an Exchange server via the MAPI over HTTP protocol that deal with crashes, Public Folder connectivity and and attachment corruptions in some scenarios when connected in Online Mode. 
  • You may see incorrect search results in Shared Mailboxes.
  • Adds the ability for non-Outlook MAPI applications to use the Autodiscover service to receive connection settings during IMAPISession::OpenMsgStore, when the target is an Exchange mailbox by setting the AllowAutoDiscoverForNonOutlook Registry value.

Outlook 2010 Update for April 2016

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2010. This is a non-security update which contains 3 documented improvements and fixes. 

  • After receiving the RPC_S_SERVER_TOO_BUSY response from the Exchange Server, Outlook that has the MAPI over HTTP transport protocol enabled should resend the request after some back-off time instead of immediately reconnecting to the server.
  • When you download email attachments through the MAPI over HTTP transport protocol in Outlook, attachments may be corrupted in some scenarios. This issue occurs in multi-core processor systems and Outlook with online mode.
  • When a delegate opens a meeting request in Outlook, some respond buttons, such as the Accept, Tentative, and Decline buttons, aren’t displayed.

Cumulative Update 1 for Exchange 2016 is now available for direct download. It contains 5 documented new fixes or improvements and all previously released fixes and security updates for Exchange 2016.

Notable fixes are:

  • Changed: Remote PowerShell sessions will now no longer be using Mailbox Anchoring.
  • Updated S/MIME Control for Outlook Web Access. Users who have installed the earlier version of the control must update it via OWA.
  • KB3135688: Preserves the web.config file for Outlook Web App when you apply a cumulative update in Exchange Server 2016.
  • KB3124242: Mailbox quota is not validated during migration to Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Server 2016.
