Business Contact Manager (BCM) is a free Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for Outlook targeted at small business owners.
Business Contact Manager for Outlook helps you organize your business records, manage sales and marketing activities, create reports and charts, and gives you fresh insights into your business.
Don’t be thrown off by the title of the download page at Microsoft. The installation file applies to both Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 and doesn’t require you to already have a BCM 2007 database to upgrade from.
After the installation completes, you can either start with a new BCM database or restore an existing database from any version of BCM.
BCM for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Outlook
Upon downloading, you’ll get a choice between 2 files:
Pick this one when you are using a 32-bit version of Outlook.
Pick this one when you are using a 64-bit version of Outlook.
Unless you specifically chose to install the 64-bit version of Outlook, it is more likely you are using the 32-bit version, even when you are using a 64-bit version of Windows.
To verify your bitness level of Outlook use:
- Outlook 2010
File-> Help-> section on the right: About Microsoft Outlook
- Outlook 2013
File-> Office Account-> About Outlook-> first line at the top of the About dialog.
