Outlook 2013 Hotfix for October 2013 brings back Appointments for upcoming days in To-Do Bar

News

Hotfix KB2825677 for Outlook 2013
This hotfix contains fixes for 9 specific issues. Most notable fixes are;

  • Appointments for up to 7 upcoming days (when space permits it) are now displayed when you have the Calendar Peek enabled in the To-Do Bar instead of only Today’s appointments (View-> To-Do Bar-> Calendar).
    Appointments for upcoming days are now also displayed when you hover on the word “Calendar” at the bottom of your Outlook window.
  • When you mark an email message as read or unread in the Inbox folder in Outlook 2013, the position of the Inbox folder is changed in the Folder pane.
  • When your user account is in a different forest than the Exchange server, the email configuration test fails and setting an automatic reply results in the error message: “Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.”
  • When you try to update the meeting in Outlook 2013, you receive the following error message: “Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid.”

Standardize Contacts’ Full Name and File As format

Button Change Name FormatWhat does your Contacts folder and Address Book look like?
Do all names show up in the same format?
For instance: “First Last” or “Last, First”?

If you’ve been using Outlook for quite some time already or when you’ve imported your Contacts from multiple sources, chances are that things aren’t that consistent for you which could make it more difficult to find a contact.

There is no way in Outlook to quickly standardize the naming format of your existing contacts and updating them manually is very labor intensive.

With the VBA macros from this guide, you can quickly standardize the naming convention of all your Contacts to a format of your choice.
