Outlook 2013 Security Update for September 2016

A Security Update has been released for Outlook 2013. In addition to resolving the vulnerability, it also contains 7 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes are;

  • Resolves the vulnerabilities mentioned in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16-107 which could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file.
  • When you forward IRM email messages, the content is attached as an .msg attachment instead of being inserted into the message body in the new email message.
  • When you use a meeting request in Outlook 2013, Outlook crashes randomly.
