Outlook 2016 Update for February 2017

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2016. This is a non-security update which contains 17 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes are:

  • Assume that Outlook 2016 is subscribed to an Internet calendar that requires your credential. Then, you select the “Remember my credentials” option in the credential prompt. In this situation, if the password expires, you can’t authenticate to the Internet calendar, and you’re not prompted to enter the new password.
  • Assume that you use an extended MAPI application (Enterprise Vault) to keep a local copy of items (Vault Cache), and the Vault Cache reaches certain size (4 GB). In this situation, the “0x80040119” error code is displayed and the call of the IMAPIProp::SaveChanges method fails. This causes the PST corruption.
  • When you send a meeting request or cancellation that has an HTML body and HTML images, the recipient does not see the images as expected.
  • You can’t load other users’ calendars in Outlook 2016. The load status remains Retrieving and the CPU usage stays at 100%.

Office 365 subscribers have also received a feature update; Add-ins can now create a Pinnable Taskpane.
