June Hotfixes for Outlook 2007

A new Hotfix has been released for Outlook 2007 that solves 17 issues in total.

The most notable fix is for people who see new messages being delivered directly to the Deleted Items folder instead of the Inbox folder.

This hotfix also incorporates a design change; all files that are in Outlook’s SecureTemp folder are automatically deleted when Outlook closes. While this means that you no longer would get any errors after opening over 100 attachments with the same name, it also means you no longer have the option to rescue a modified attachment you accidentally saved to this folder. Therefore I’d really recommended to force Outlook to open all attachments as Read Only or to save an attachment to disk first if you intent to modify it.

For the full list of issues solved see KB983316

In addition to this language generic hotfix, 1 language specific hotfix has been released to solve an issue with the Italian spell checker in Outlook Web Access (OWA).
KB983308 : Update for the Italian proofing tools of Office 2007 (it-it).

Since these are hotfixes and not regular updates, you won’t be offered this update via Microsoft Update but will have to request it. You can do this at the information page of each hotfix.

If you are not (seriously) effected by any of these issues, it is recommended to wait for the next Service Pack or regular Rollup Update which will most likely contain all these fixes as well.
