Downloads MFCMAPI

MFCMAPI buttonMFCMAPI provides access to MAPI stores to facilitate investigation of Exchange and Outlook issues and to provide developers with a sample for MAPI development.

Less technical; You could say that MFCMAPI is a low-level mailbox editing tool. It’s designed for expert users and developers only so pretty much all safety nets are missing and making a mistake could result in total destruction of your mailbox data.

If this doesn’t like something for you, it’s best not to use this tool with any important data of which you don’t have a backup.

Although this isn’t an official Microsoft application, it is however developed by Stephen Griffin who is a Senior Escalation Engineer in Developer Support at Microsoft focusing on Outlook and Exchange Server APIs (in other words: this is a very reliable application).

There are several guides on HowTo-Outlook.com and MSOutlook.info which provide step-by-step instructions on how to use MFCMAPI to achieve specific tasks or solve issues which can’t otherwise be solved.

Download: Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010

Note:
Don’t be thrown off by the title of the download page at Microsoft. The installation file applies to both Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 and doesn’t require you to already have a BCM 2007 database to upgrade from.

After the installation completes, you can either start with a new BCM database or restore an existing database from any version of BCM.

BCM for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Outlook

Upon downloading, you’ll get a choice between 2 files:

  • BCM2010-BCMSetup-x86-en-US.exe
Pick this one when you are using a 32-bit version of Outlook.
  • BCM2010-BCMSetup-x64-en-US.exe
Pick this one when you are using a 64-bit version of Outlook.

Unless you specifically chose to install the 64-bit version of Outlook, it is more likely you are using the 32-bit version, even when you are using a 64-bit version of Windows.

To verify your bitness level of Outlook use:

  • Outlook 2010
File-> Help-> section on the right: About Microsoft Outlook
  • Outlook 2013
File-> Office Account-> About Outlook-> first line at the top of the About dialog.

Downloads Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT)

The Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT) provides a detailed report of your installed Office programs. This report includes many parameters about your Office program configuration. It also highlights known problems that are found when OffCAT scans your computer.

For any problems that are listed in the report, you are provided a link to a public-facing article (usually a Microsoft Knowledge Base article) about each problem so that you can read about possible fixes. If you are a Helpdesk professional, you can also save the report to a file so that it can be viewed in the Office Configuration Analyzer Tool on another client on which the tool is installed.

This tool began as the Outlook Configuration Analyzer Tool (OCAT ) which provided a quick and easy method to analyze your Microsoft Office Outlook profile for common configurations that may cause problems in Outlook. Even though it is now called OffCAT, analyzing your Outlook configuration is still a very large part of the tool and is a must have when you want to identify possible issues with Outlook proactively.
