Slipstream Office XP to SP3

When you slipstream Service Pack 3 into your Office XP installation point Office XP will be installed at Service Pack 3 level saving you the trouble of applying it afterwards. All you need is Office XP Service Pack 3 and the installation CD of Office XP.

1. Download the administrative version of Office XP SP3 and save it to C:\ (click here for a different language than English)
2. Extract the OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe file to C:\oxpsp3a by Start-> Run and type;
   C:\OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe /t:c:\oxpsp3a /c
3. Insert your Office XP CD and make an administrative installation point to C:\offxp
   To do this open the Run command again and type;
   D:\setup.exe /a (where D:\ is your CD-ROM drive)
4. When the installation point is created open the Run command again and type*:
   msiexec /a C:\offxp\proplus.msi /p C:\oxpsp3a\MAINSP3ff.msp SHORTFILENAMES=1
5. When the update is finished you can write the content of C:\offxp to CD and you’ll have an Office XP SP3 slipstreamed CD!

Note 1: You can append /qb+ to the preceding command line to avoid receiving the Office XP Administrative Installation dialog box and the End User License Agreement dialog box.
Note 2: You can follow these instructions as well to include the hotfixes

proplus.msi    = Office XP Professional with Microsoft Office Frontpage
pro.msi          = Office XP Professional
proret.msi      = Office XP Professional Retail
std.msi          = Office XP Standard
stdret.msi      = Office XP Standard Retail
sberet.msi     = Office XP Small Business Retail

If it ends with “tri” it is a trial edition; protri.msi
