Outlook 2016 Update for June 2016

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2016. This is a non-security update which contains 12 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes are:

  • When you edit a contact and then reopen the contact, the contact photo is deleted.
  • Smartcard authentication isn’t supported in the new authentication in Outlook 2016. To enable smartcard authentication, you can set the AlwaysUseLegacyAuthForAutodiscover Registry value.
  • If there are many attachments in an email message, the attachment scrollbar doesn’t appear on high DPI devices

Some Office 365 for Business users will also see a new simplified user interface (UI) experience for setting up additional Outlook profiles for Office 365 mailboxes. Eventually, this feature will be rolled out to all Office 365 users.
