        News Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 4 – Re-released

The Exchange Team has completely reviewed and revalidated the Rollup 4 update for Exchange 2010 SP1 and has released an updated version for it. This release includes a fix for the SP1RU4 issue described in KB2581545.

SP1RU5 is still on schedule to be released in August.

News Junk E-mail Filter updates for July 2011 – Updated

        Update:
Upon questioning the Outlook Team about the missing updates, especially for Outlook 2010, they have now decided to publish this month’s Junk E-mail Filter updates for Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2003 still as an off-cycle release and aim to be back on track for next month again.

The updates for Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2010 will not become available via Windows Update, nor have their KB articles been updated or published yet, but they can be downloaded and installed manually via the links below.

New Junk E-mail Filter definitions have been made available for Outlook 2007 all Outlook versions. Sadly Outlook 2010 has missed the cut again (latest filter is dated March 15) and no update has been made available for Outlook 2003 either this month.

        News Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 4 – Removed

Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 4 has been removed from the Download Center due to an issue where messages from subfolders could get deleted when a parent folder is copied or moved within Outlook. Recovery would still be possible via the “Recoverable Items” folder (Dumpster).

If you have it already installed, you can uninstall it or contact Microsoft Customer Support and request interim update KB2581545 (KB article will be published later). It appears a fixed version of SP1 RU4 won’t be released and instead will be directly superseded by SP1 RU5 scheduled for August.

News New Outlook Hotmail Connector with HTTPS support!

A new version of the Outlook Hotmail Connector has been released.
Checking the about box will reveal the version number 14.0.6106.5001.

The main new feature is that it now supports HTTPS, which means that all communication between Outlook and Windows Live services (Mail, Calendar and Contacts) is now being encrypted and thus fully secure. There is no need to change any settings to make it work; just install the latest version of the Outlook Hotmail Connector and you’re set.

        Note:
You could see some Send/Receive errors and Outlook reporting “Limited Connectivity” for some time after installing this Outlook Hotmail Connector version. This is due to the fact that your old non-HTTPS Cookies need to expire first. This will fix itself over time. For details see the Send/Receive errors section.

Several other fixes are included in this release as well, including a fix for characters which are valid in Outlook but invalid in Windows Live Hotmail. Also, flagged items with reminders will no longer prompt even after it was dismissed. For more see; Full list of fixes.
