Outlook 2013 Hotfixes for August 2014

2 Hotfixes have been released for Outlook 2013 fixing a total of 10 issues which haven’t been included in the most current Rollup Update.


Hotfix KB2883074 for Outlook 2013

Update:
This hotfix has been removed because of issues with accessing the Exchange Personal Archive.

The hotfix has been replaced with update KB2889859.

The update is only available for download via its KB article and not being offered via Windows Update. The update is being pushed out for Office 365 installations as version: 15.0.4641.1003. You can get is quicker when you manually let it check for updates via: File-> Office Account-> Update Options-> Update Now

This hotfix contains 8 fixes for specific issues. Most notable fixes are:

  • Modifying a Recurring Meeting for a Calendar in an Outlook.com or other EAS account, can send out multiple updates for each modified occurrence.
  • Multiple fixes for IMAP accounts where the Read/Unread status isn’t being synchronized or Internet Header are being removed after moving a message.
  • Search results will now show 250 items by default instead of the current 30. Note that this limit can also be configured via the Registry.

Hotfix KB2883076 for Outlook 2013
This hotfix contains 1 Outlook and 1 Word update.
After applying this hotfix, Outlook will no longer show downloading prompts or attempt to download a linked image when the link to the image doesn’t work. (This is finally the real solution to the PayPal message hang issue from almost 3 years ago!)
